Laser cutting

Design of edges on the combined punching machine.

Laser cutting

On what are termed combined punching machines, not only can you carry out punching but also laser cutting. Nevertheless, the usual design methods for laser-cut sheet parts must be taken into consideration, such is the use of arbitrary radii, approach tabs, tolerances, etc.

Furthermore, the size of the laser cutting unit must also be taken into consideration. That is, on a radius of 175 mm, there must be no high forming element, otherwise there would be collisions. The smallest formed elements must also be located much closer to the laser edge, depending on the machine, and the laser edge can be improved by pinching the roller.

NOTE
The sharp edges of the laser cut can be removed by pinching with the roller on the same machine.
