Riveted box

Electricity

2 Part | 2 Forming type | 9 Cutting tools

A small box with lock to safeguard electrical or similar items. In addition to the thin design elements, there are rivets and precise fit pluggable devices on both sides of the box. The easily handled deburred cover can be fastened with the help of countersunk screws in a cold formed thread. Note: This box can also be made without rivets (see related parts).

Basic knowledge used on this part:

You can see one of the rivets on the right-hand side. This confers great dimensional stability and, therefore, load capacity to the highly bent tabs the box. On the left-hand side you can see the formed thread that is designed for screwing in the cover.

A great advantage: the component leaves the punching machine with the edges now folded by 60%. The result is more efficient and cheap production.
